Google is going to sweep away Maps app of Apple’s iOS. The technology
of Google Earth map on the iPhone and iPad are still on top and only performing
better. Yesterday, Google updated its Google Earth iOS app to add 3-D flyover
maps Rome and few metropolitan areas of U.S.
In this updated maps, anyone can see 3-D overhead view. Now it has become Google Earth 3-D map.
A caveat is available there; moreover, not all most every
iOS device may get the 3-D map update. Better, the 3-D maps will only render on
some latest devices like iPhone 4s, iPad 2 and the 3rd generation
iPad. When Google earth on any android device has the 3-D maps as well. But
this update point the 1st time that Google Earth will have the 3-D
maps as well.
Moreover, this recent updates will add to all devices in
which are running iOS 4.3 or newer, a
feature called Tour Guide, which lists landmark and historic locations in
various cities around the world. Descriptions of locations featured in Tour
Guide are pulled from Wikipedia. As of now, Earth has more than 10,000 points
of interest and even a few flyover tours built into its Tour Guide feature.
